The Audio and Acoustic Labs
In our audio and acoustic lab we can measure sound and vibrations and do various acoustic simulations. We also have the capability to design complex acoustic and audio systems in all kinds of products like mobile phones, loudspeakers and headsets.
Anechoic Room
In the Anechoic room we have the possibility to measure acoustic sounds in an open space. In order to perform the measurements we have a silent room with non-reflective walls, floor and ceiling. The room is non-reflective down to 250Hz and the background noise level is below the electrical noise floor, this creates a clean acoustic path between the tested device and the microphone without noise or disturbing reflections.
Two smaller Anechoic Chambers
Our two smaller chambers are used for smaller projects or near field measurements.
ETSI Rooms
We have three ETSI specified rooms in different sizes. These rooms are used for measuring conference calls, Skype for business or voice recognition statistics. The rooms are fully equipped with loudspeaker arrays, HATS and ACQUA multi channel test system.
In the Anechoic and ETSI rooms we conduct a number of different tests and measurements to ensure the quality of the audio and acoustic features of products.
Head and Torso Simulator
We have six different Head And Torso Simulators (HATS). Each HATS have microphones in its ears and a loudspeaker in the mouth, this is to enable the head and torso simulator to work acoustically as a human being in a measurement situation.
Wind Noise
We can test sensitivity for wind, in for instance headset microphones. This is often done inside the anechoic room to reduce other background noise. This type of measurement is conducted to quantify the audio quality for a product used outdoors.
Measuring Vibrations
With our laser equipment, we can measure the movement of a loudspeakers membrane and calculate a mathematical model of the loudspeaker. This is used to compensate unlinearities and to make loudspeakers play louder with less distortion, thus increasing the quality of sound.
Acoustic Simulations
To shorten mechanical and acoustical design, we use simulations in COMSOL, ARES and Matlab. This enables us to cut the process of building many prototypes before we have something that works acoustically.
Audio Precision
We can measure electrical audio signals with high accuracy with equipment that has all available digital and analog interfaces.
Field Measurements
We have the experience of conducting measurements in the field to analyze a specific situation. For instance, measuring the noise levels and speech inside an MC helmet while driving.
Barge-In Testing
Barge-In Testing is when you try to speak to a smart speaker, like Alexa or Google Home, when the loudspeaker simultaneously is playing music. Often, the smart speaker cannot hear your voice if it is playing music at the same time.
We have designed and tested smart speakers that react to your voice even though the loudspeaker is playing loud music.
